KULINE RareBooks Search has been renewed. Interface was entirely re-design, and “Pick-up” information was newly added.

The Graduate School of Letters of Kyoto University and the Kyoto University Museum have been carrying out the restoration and digitization of an important cultural property Dainihonshi hensan kiroku held by the Graduate School of Letters since academic year 2017. Two hundred fifteen images of the restored volumes 11-14 are now available in Kyoto University Rare Materials Digital Archive. As of June 25, 2021, the Digital Archive provides 1,663,322 images of 20,564 titles.

Images of 2,033 items from Fujikawa Collection held by Main Library were provided for the Database of Pre-Modern Japanese Works produced by the National Institute of Japanese Literature.

As a means to share information described in rare materials more widely, the Kyoto University Library Network has been digitizing them and making the data available on the internet. The new website page introduces how to make rare materials open access with photographs.

Two hundred and twenty four titles from the Daiso-bon collection held by the Main Library have been newly digitized and released. As of March 11, 2021, Kyoto University Rare Materials Digital Archive provides 1,663,107 images of 20,564 titles.

Seven hundred and seventy-one items have been newly released in the "Asia Depicted On Postcards" collection.

NDL Search provided by the National Diet Library shows direct links to Kyoto University Rare Materials Digital Archive by getting metadata from Kyoto University’s OPAC, KULINE. New data has been added on March 1, 2021 and the thumbnails of rare materials are now available in NDL Search.

Kikutei Collection was deposited permanently to the Main Library, Kyoto University by late Marquess Kiminaga Kikutei in 1921 and 1922, and has been preserved and researched in the library. Thanks to the generous contribution from its current owner, the collection, together with additional related documents, was donated to the Main Library and has recently been registered as the library’s holding. This time, six items – four portraits of the family heads, a scroll of the family tree, and a well-known diary written in 1576, “Tokitsugu-kyo-ki (言継卿記)” – have been digitalized and released. As of January 21, 2021, Kyoto University Rare Materials Digital Archive provides 1,614,552 images of 19,436 titles.
