今昔物語集(鈴鹿本)
Konjaku monogatari-shu (Suzuka Ed.)

Konjaku monogatari-shu is the largest collection of stories in Japan.

It consists of stories in three parts of the world - India, China and Japan, namely all the world the then Japanese could imagine.

The complete collection is composed of 31 volumes, only 28 of which are extant, including more than one thousand stories. As the worldview depicted in the stories extends to every layer of society, the value of this collection is far more than literary; it is also a valuable source of information for history, folklore, religion, geography, and ideology.

Without any preface, postface or anything of that sort attached to it, its anthologists and creation year are unknown.
