Description
村田清風 天明3(1783)～安政2(1855) 長州藩天保改革の指導者。吉田松陰は青年時代に清風に会って、その人物に敬服し、清風もまた松陰に嘱望した。「鐵心報國堅於城 勿咲文臣視甲兵 永祿遣謀豈可廢 / 漁陽皷雜霓裳聲」(出典:平成6年度京都大学附属図書館公開展示会図録『吉田松陰とその同志』)
It's a poem by MURATA SEIFU (1783-1855). He, himself a civil official, had a strong wish to do his best for the country. He wrote in this poem that Japan shoud have a strong military to prepare for the sudden emergency.
